Electrical Services Tender Template

Electrical Services Tender Template

$324.50

Maybe you have been quietly doing better electrical work than the contractors with the panel contracts, but the tender form is the wall between you and that next level of client. Your compliance is in order and your callout times are genuinely good. What you need is a document that says so in the language evaluators score.

Why electrical businesses lose tenders they should win

Electrical bidders usually have the technical substance and lose on the narrative. Relevant experience and past performance carries 15 to 30% on most panel and maintenance tenders, and a list of job names with no scope, value, client reference or outcome will not earn those marks. Evaluators want to see a contract that looked like theirs, delivered by you, with a result they can verify.

Capability and key personnel, often 10 to 25%, is where licence evidence gets buried in an appendix instead of presented as a workforce picture. Show your electrical contractor licence, your registered electrical contractor status, individual licences and restricted tickets, your apprentice to tradesperson mix, and who steps in when your lead electrician is on another site. Then show the resourcing behind it, because a buyer with sixty sites needs to know you can cover all of them on a Friday afternoon.

Methodology is the third gap. Preventative maintenance schedules, testing and tagging regimes, RCD testing cycles, emergency and exit light compliance, switchboard condition reporting and after-hours fault response all belong in a written method, not a sentence. WHS carries 5 to 20% and for electrical work the evaluator expects isolation and lockout procedures, live work justification, arc flash controls and working at height. Environmental and social value is worth another 5 to 10%, which is worth more than most electrical bidders give it.

How it works

  1. Buy and download. The template is a fully editable Word file, yours to keep with no subscription.
  2. Read the Writer’s Notes. They tell you what a strong electrical answer contains and where bidders usually go thin.
  3. Fill in your evidence. Drop in your licences, your jobs, your response data and your people, then remove the amber boxes.
  4. Match your answers to the tender schedule, apply the buyer’s formatting rules, and submit.
