Painting Services Tender Template

Painting Services Tender Template

$324.50

Anyone can quote a repaint. Fewer contractors can explain how they will prepare a 1970s school building, manage lead-based paint, keep classrooms open and still finish before term starts. Buyers score that explanation, and this template gives you a place to write it down.

Why painting businesses lose tenders they should win

Painting tenders attract a lot of bidders, so evaluators use the qualitative criteria to separate them. Methodology at 10 to 20% is decisive here. Surface preparation, substrate assessment, coating systems and film thickness, number of coats, drying and recoat times, and adherence to manufacturer specifications all belong in your method. Bidders who write about quality workmanship without naming a system get marked down against bidders who spell it out.

Relevant experience at 15 to 30% means comparable buildings, not just comparable square metres. A painter who has completed a live school repaint over the holidays, or a repaint of an occupied aged care facility, should say so, with the client, the timeframe and the constraints handled. Capability and key personnel at 10 to 25% covers your supervisors, painter qualifications, crew sizes and your ability to scale up for a shutdown window.

WHS is weighted from 5 to 20% and painting carries specific hazards evaluators look for. Working at height and scaffold use, confined spaces, solvent exposure and ventilation, lead-based paint and asbestos awareness in older buildings, and public and occupant safety on live sites all need controls. Environment and sustainability at 5 to 10% covers low-VOC coatings, paint and solvent waste disposal, wash-up water containment and dust control. Local benefit at 5 to 10% rewards local crews and local suppliers.
